I am 58 and a life long paddler and have been accessing the ACR since 1985. I started to come to the area because my Dad worked as a telegraph operator for the ACR after WWII.

Agawa Canyon Tour train heading southbound at Mile 111.
Riding the train is a fall favourite.
Mine is paddling down the Agawa river enjoying the canyon and the visual eye candy it offers.
My son and I were hiking the hills in the area and we picked this spot to wait for the train.

Algoma Passenger train climbs out of Agawa Canyon in the winter of 2011.
The Canyon is incredibly beautiful but also very unforgiving if you are unprepared.
Temperature at the time of this pic was approx. -35c

Then and Now.
This is photo taken from the same location as the 1920's postcard.

Even though the postcard says Mile 114, it is actually at the Mile 115 marker.
It was a very cool experience to look through the lens and see the same scene.
